Cuphea carthagenensis adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan berbentuk perdu kecil dari famili Lythraceae yang memiliki siklus hidup semusim (annual). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Meksiko hingga kawasan tropis Amerika. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan colombian waxweed. Nama ilmiah Cuphea carthagenensis diperkenalkan oleh Nikolaus Joseph von Jacquin pada tahun 1930.
