Cuphea ferruginea merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Lythraceae yang tumbuh dalam bentuk perdu kecil atau semak. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di wilayah Brazil (Goiás, Brasília, D.F.). Nama ilmiah Cuphea ferruginea pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Johann Baptist Emanuel Pohl pada tahun 1877.
