Cuphea setosa merupakan tumbuhan perdu kecil dari famili Lythraceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Meksiko (Veracruz, Oaxaca), hingga Peru dan Tobago. Nama ilmiah Cuphea setosa pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Bernhard Adalbert Emil Koehne pada tahun 1877.
