Cymbopogon schoenanthus subsp. proximus adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Sahara dan Sahel hingga Sinai dan Kenya. Nama ilmiah Cymbopogon schoenanthus subsp. proximus diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Christian Ferdinand Friedrich Hochstetter pada tahun 1952.
