Cyperus aethiops adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan menahun dari famili Cyperaceae (suku teki-tekian). Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk rimpang atau stolon. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di kawasan tropis Afrika dan Afrika Selatan. Nama ilmiah Cyperus aethiops pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Friedrich Welwitsch pada tahun 1884.
