Cyperus aggregatus merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Cyperaceae (suku teki-tekian). Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk rimpang atau stolon. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di kawasan tropis dan subtropis Amerika . Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan inflatedscale flatsedge. Nama ilmiah Cyperus aggregatus pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Carl Ludwig von Willdenow pada tahun 1842.
