Cyperus almensis merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Cyperaceae (suku teki-tekian). Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk rimpang atau stolon. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di wilayah Brazil (Bahia: Pico das Almas). Nama ilmiah Cyperus almensis diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama David Alan Simpson pada tahun 1993.
