Cyperus aromaticus adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan menahun dari famili Cyperaceae (suku teki-tekian). Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk rimpang atau stolon. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di kawasan tropis Afrika dan Afrika Selatan, Samudera Hindia bagian barat. Nama ilmiah Cyperus aromaticus pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Henry Nicholas Ridley pada tahun 1936.
