Cyperus bellus merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Cyperaceae (suku teki-tekian). Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk rimpang atau stolon. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Afrika Selatan. Nama ilmiah Cyperus bellus pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Carl Sigismund Kunth pada tahun 1837.
