Cyperus diaphanus merupakan tumbuhan semusim dari famili Cyperaceae (suku teki-tekian). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di kawasan Asia tropis dan subtropis. Nama ilmiah Cyperus diaphanus pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Heinrich Adolph Schrader pada tahun 1824.
