Cyperus glaucophyllus merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Cyperaceae (suku teki-tekian). Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk rimpang atau stolon. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Sudan Selatan hingga Afrika Selatan. Nama ilmiah Cyperus glaucophyllus pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Johann Otto Boeckeler pada tahun 1888.
