Cyperus gunnii merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Cyperaceae (suku teki-tekian). Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk rimpang atau stolon. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Australia. Nama ilmiah Cyperus gunnii pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Joseph Dalton Hooker pada tahun 1858.
