Cyperus hillebrandii merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Cyperaceae (suku teki-tekian). Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk rimpang atau stolon. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Kepulauan Hawaii. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan hillebrand's flatsedge. Nama ilmiah Cyperus hillebrandii pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Johann Otto Boeckeler pada tahun 1880.
