Cyperus humilis merupakan tumbuhan semusim dari famili Cyperaceae (suku teki-tekian). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Meksiko, Peru, hingga Karibia. Nama ilmiah Cyperus humilis pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Carl Sigismund Kunth pada tahun 1837.
