Cyperus insularis merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Cyperaceae (suku teki-tekian). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Pulau North Selandia Baru. Nama ilmiah Cyperus insularis pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Peter Brian Heenan pada tahun 2005.
