Cyperus jaeggii merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Cyperaceae (suku teki-tekian). Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk rimpang atau stolon. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis. Nama ilmiah Cyperus jaeggii pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Johann Otto Boeckeler pada tahun 1888.
