Cyperus ngothe merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Cyperaceae (suku teki-tekian). Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk rimpang atau stolon. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di kawasan tropis Afrika bagian timur. Nama ilmiah Cyperus ngothe pertama kali dipublikasikan pada tahun 2014.
