Cyperus polystachyos merupakan tumbuhan semusim atau menahun dari famili Cyperaceae (suku teki-tekian). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di kawasan tropis dan subtropis. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan manyspike flatsedge. Nama ilmiah Cyperus polystachyos pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Christen Friis Rottbøll pada tahun 1773.
