Cyperus retrofractus merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Cyperaceae (suku teki-tekian). Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk rimpang atau stolon. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan rough flatsedge. Nama ilmiah Cyperus retrofractus pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis John Torrey pada tahun 1843.
