Cyperus tempeae merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Cyperaceae (suku teki-tekian). Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk rimpang atau stolon. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di wilayah Meksiko. Nama ilmiah Cyperus tempeae pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Gordon C. Tucker pada tahun 1994.
