Cyperus tomaiophyllus merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Cyperaceae (suku teki-tekian). Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk rimpang atau stolon. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering. Nama ilmiah Cyperus tomaiophyllus pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Karl Moritz Schumann pada tahun 1895.
