Cyrtococcum oxyphyllum merupakan tumbuhan semusim atau menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari kawasan Asia tropis dan subtropis hingga Pasifik. Nama ilmiah Cyrtococcum oxyphyllum pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Christian Ferdinand Friedrich Hochstetter pada tahun 1922.
