Dalea carthagenensis var. barbata merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Meksiko tenggara hingga Venezuela. Nama ilmiah Dalea carthagenensis var. barbata pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Anders Sandøe Ørsted pada tahun 1977.
