Dalea scandens merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Amerika Serikat bagian barat dan tengah hingga Nikaragua, Kuba. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan low prairie clover. Nama ilmiah Dalea scandens diperkenalkan oleh William Houstoun pada tahun 1946.
