Daphne mezereum merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu dari famili Thymelaeaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Eropa hingga Siberia barat daya dan Iran utara. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan paradise plant. Nama ilmiah Daphne mezereum diperkenalkan oleh Carolus Linnaeus pada tahun 1753.
