Datura innoxia merupakan tumbuhan semusim atau menahun dari famili Solanaceae (suku terong-terongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Arizona hingga Texas dan Meksiko. Nama ilmiah Datura innoxia diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Philip Miller pada tahun 1768.
