Deschampsia cespitosa adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Subarctic dan area beriklim sedang hingga area pegunungan tropis. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan tufted hairgrass. Nama ilmiah Deschampsia cespitosa pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Ambroise Marie François Joseph Palisot de Beauvois pada tahun 1812.
