Desmanthus cooleyi merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Colorado hingga Oklahoma tenggara dan Meksiko utara. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan cooley's bundleflower. Nama ilmiah Desmanthus cooleyi pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Amos Eaton pada tahun 1891.
