Desmanthus hexapetalus merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Paraguay hingga Argentina (Misiones). Nama ilmiah Desmanthus hexapetalus diperkenalkan oleh Marc Micheli pada tahun 1919.
