Desmodium helleri merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Meksiko selatan. Nama ilmiah Desmodium helleri diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Johann Joseph Peyritsch pada tahun 1859.
