Desmodium seleri merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Guatemala. Nama ilmiah Desmodium seleri diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Anton Karl Schindler pada tahun 1946.
