Desmodium subsecundum merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Brazil hingga Argentina timur laut. Nama ilmiah Desmodium subsecundum diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Julius Rudolph Theodor Vogel pada tahun 1838.
