Desmodium subtile merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Meksiko tengah. Nama ilmiah Desmodium subtile diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama William Botting Hemsley pada tahun 1880.
