Desmoncus orthacanthos merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Arecaceae (suku pinang-pinangan) yang memiliki pola tumbuh memanjat. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Brazil timur. Nama ilmiah Desmoncus orthacanthos pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Carl Friedrich Philipp von Martius pada tahun 1824.
