Dichanthium aristatum merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari India hingga China (Yunnan) dan kawasan Malesia. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan angleton bluestem. Nama ilmiah Dichanthium aristatum pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Jean Louis Marie Poiret pada tahun 1940.
