Dichondra sericea merupakan tumbuhan perdu kecil dari famili Convolvulaceae (suku kangkung-kangkungan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan silverleaf ponysfoot. Nama ilmiah Dichondra sericea pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Olof Peter Swartz pada tahun 1788.
