Dichrostachys kirkii merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu atau pohon dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma gurun pasir atau sabana kering di kawasan tropis Afrika bagian timur laut. Nama ilmiah Dichrostachys kirkii diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama George Bentham pada tahun 1875.
