Dinebra squarrosa merupakan tumbuhan semusim dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di wilayah Tanzania (termasuk Pemba), Komoro, Madagaskar. Nama ilmiah Dinebra squarrosa diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Robert Knud Friedrich Pilger pada tahun 2012.
