Diospyros crassinervis merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Ebenaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Bahama, Kuba tengah dan timur, hingga Hispaniola. Nama ilmiah Diospyros crassinervis pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Karl (Carl) Wilhelm Leopold Krug pada tahun 1935.
