Diospyros malacothrix merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Ebenaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Papua. Nama ilmiah Diospyros malacothrix pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis André Joseph Guillaume Henri Kostermans pada tahun 1977.
