Diospyros revoluta merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu atau pohon dari famili Ebenaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Karibia. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan black apple. Nama ilmiah Diospyros revoluta pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Jean Louis Marie Poiret pada tahun 1804.
