Distichlis australis merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Argentina selatan. Nama ilmiah Distichlis australis pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Carlo Luigi (Carlos Luis) Spegazzini pada tahun 1969.
