Dolichos fangitsa merupakan tumbuhan perdu dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan tumbuh memanjat. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di wilayah Madagaskar barat daya dan selatan. Nama ilmiah Dolichos fangitsa diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama René Viguier pada tahun 1952.
