Dolichos staintonii merupakan tumbuhan semusim dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan tumbuh memanjat. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Himalaya tengah dan barat-tengah. Nama ilmiah Dolichos staintonii diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Hiroyoshi Ohashi pada tahun 1977.
