Dorstenia hirta merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Moraceae (suku ara-araan) yang tumbuh dalam bentuk perdu kecil atau semak. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Brazil (Bahia tenggara hingga Paraná). Nama ilmiah Dorstenia hirta pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Nicaise Auguste Desvaux pada tahun 1826.
