Drymocallis arguta merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Rosaceae (suku mawar-mawaran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari kawasan subarktik Amerika, Amerika Serikat bagian utara, tengah, hingga dan timur-tengah. Nama ilmiah Drymocallis arguta diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Frederick Traugott Pursh pada tahun 1898.
