Drypetes afzelii merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Putranjivaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di kawasan tropis Afrika bagian barat. Nama ilmiah Drypetes afzelii pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Ferdinand Albin Pax pada tahun 1912.
