Drypetes australis merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu atau pohon dari famili Putranjivaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma gurun pasir atau sabana kering di wilayah KwaZulu-Natal. Nama ilmiah Drypetes australis pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis John Hutchinson pada tahun 1922.
