Ebenus stellata merupakan tumbuhan perdu kecil dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Oman, Iran, hingga India (Punjab). Nama ilmiah Ebenus stellata diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Pierre Edmond Boissier pada tahun 1843.
