Echinochloa brevipedicellata adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan semusim dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di kawasan tropis Afrika bagian timur. Nama ilmiah Echinochloa brevipedicellata pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis (Gustav) Albert Peter pada tahun 1978.
